Tech-Air® 3 is a fully self-contained, autonomous airbag system that requires no external connections or sensors on the motorcycle to operate. It features six integrated sensors (three accelerometers and three gyroscopes, or one triaxial gyroscope and one triaxial accelerometer) to provide exceptional crash detection across a variety of dynamic riding scenarios.

The system activates automatically via a magnetic zip closure and includes an ECU housed in a waterproof casing, ensuring reliable performance even in wet conditions. Its packable design allows for easy storage in a backpack or under the bike’s seat when not in use.

Tech-Air® 3 features a diagonal zipper for full front chest coverage while concealing the inner airbag, and the magnetic zip closure ensures both ease of use and secure fastening. An LED display on the front chest indicates the airbag’s operational status, while an internal magnetic button facilitates optimal airbag positioning during rides.

Strategically placed stretch panels on the sides of the abdomen allow for airbag expansion in the event of a crash, and the integrated back protector pocket accommodates additional passive protection. The system uses Alpinestars’ Pro 2nd Generation compact ECU, embedded in the upper back of the vest, and employs the Tech-Air® 5 street algorithm for active protection in various riding conditions, even when stopped.

The system is upgradable via the Tech-Air® App, which offers Bluetooth low-energy (BLE 5.0) connectivity to display the system’s status, battery life, and riding data. Tech-Air® 3’s certified lithium-ion battery provides up to 40 hours of use and recharges in approximately 4 hours. The LED display also features a haptic alert to confirm when the system is armed or when the battery is low.

The argon gas canister, located on the right side of the lower back, provides the inflation gas for the airbag deployment. Both the canister housing and electronic components are easily removable for maintenance, and the vest is washable. Constructed with water-resistant materials, Tech-Air® 3 ensures reliable all-weather performance.

A Stella version is also available, featuring an ergonomically designed fit optimised for women.
